THIS IS A CIVILIAN POSITION FOR HVAC TECHNICIAN. TIDEWATER IS A FEDERAL CONTRACTOR, THIS IS A CIVILIAN LISTING. Former or active military personnel are welcome to apply, however, we are not a military service posting.

Tidewater Inc. is looking for an HVAC Technician to service Army Reserve Command centers around the Florida panhandle.

We are looking for someone with a commercial background in HVAC who can handle primarily preventative maintenance and some diagnostic service calls.

• Maintaining and repairing all types of HVAC systems and other associated building systems to include; mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, and building automation controls.
• The individual must be able to install, modify, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various building components, these may include; boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, unit heaters, fan coil units, ductless mini splits, roof top units, exhaust fans, pumps, etc.
• Individual must be able to perform preventive and predictive maintenance on all required systems based upon a prescribed schedule.
• The individual must be well organized and able to handle a large work load, and able to respond to routine, urgent, and emergency service calls.
• The individual must also be able and willing to provide general preventative maintenance and trouble call support for non-HVAC components and could include plumbing fixtures, gates, lights, locks, drywall repair, etc.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform all the essential duties of the position satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.

Must have adequate computer and communication skills, as verified by writing samples, documentation of correspondence, and references.

Must be able to lift at least 35 lbs., climb/work from ladders, and walk up/down stairs with tools/parts.

Drug testing and background test are mandatory for employment.

Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience working on commercial heating/air conditioning/refrigeration systems and controls. Requires the ability to read blueprints and apply basic math. The HVAC technician must understand local electrical and HVAC codes and have a strong general mechanical aptitude. The HVAC technician must have communication/documentation skills, conceptual skills, attention to detail, and impeccable dependability as verified through references. Each complete year of an accredited college education in a related field, including vocational schooling (with an HVAC specialty), may be substituted for the equivalent number of years of required experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour
