Job description

The Equipment Technical Support Specialist is a primary resource for current and post sales product support. This individual will be involved in training programs, providing field service, interacting with end-product users, solve customer concerns or technical issues associated with the application, installation, and use of Hercules products. $71,000-$93,200 annually.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Maintain an expert level of knowledge of Hercules product portfolio or similar product knowledge of the industry.
  • Installation and troubleshooting skills for heating and cooling systems.
  • Perform start-ups and repair of Hercules products.
  • Perform factory and onsite training.
  • Wiring knowledge of all products Hercules sells and/or manufactures.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics.
  • Provide telephone, email, and in person technical support with a level of professionalism consistent with the company’s expectations.
  • Generate detailed and thorough records associated with phone support.
  • Support production/sales staff as a technical expert.
  • Develop, review, and publish technical training materials and multimedia presentations for use in training seminars.
  • Assist in the organization of training and participate as needed.
  • Ensure accuracy of documentation is maintained.
  • Maintain inventory of tools and parts.
  • Ability to squat, kneel, bend, and perform other physical movements required during repairs or inspections or daily job performance
Installing, maintaining, and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
  • Performing preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Excellent attendance and the ability to meet deadlines.

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Five plus years of experience in similar role.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and be insurable.
  • NATE Certification preferred.
  • CFC license preferred.
  • Experience working with commercial gas and oil-fired force draught burners.
  • Strong team building and relationship building abilities.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical blueprints and have a solid understanding of electrical and mechanical control systems BMS and burner management controls.
  • Qualified applicants must be customer oriented and motivated with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Problem solving and organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Must possess ability to keep abreast of product applications and technology trends.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Ability to analyze customer needs and to recommend the proper course of action.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff to make an accurate assessment of customer needs. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform mathematical calculations required to accurately complete assigned tasks.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral or written form. Ability to use sound judgment and problem-solving skills.

Attendance is required Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. or within normal business hours as established by the supervisor.
