We are searching for a Human Resoures Manager located at our Montpeiler, OH facility. This position will oversee the day-to-day operations and administration of Human Resources responsibilities in accordance with the highest ethical standards, the law, and the company’s policies and procedures.

HR Manager Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing and leading Human Resources strategies based on company objectives for the multiple business units in Wieland’s Montpelier, OH, Alliance, OH and Roseville, MI facilities.
  • Develop Human Resources strategies aligned with Company objectives.
  • Serve as trusted advisor, providing coaching and counseling to employees seeking support and provide guidance to senior management in HR-related matters.
  • Partner with Labor Relations Manager and Operations Management on labor related issues including union grievances, contract interpretation and negotiations.
  • Exemplify strong Wieland Values to support a positive work culture that encourages employee engagement, mutual trust, and respect.
  • Resolve employee relations issues and complaints. Interface with employees and management to clearly identify issues, perform internal investigations, liaise with necessary parties for suitable resolution.
  • Participate in business unit leadership meetings, including staff meetings, budget preparation and strategic planning.
  • Administration of disciplinary actions for both hourly and salaried employees.
  • Responsible for overseeing HR direct reports and their duties including; union attendance tracking, onboarding, compliance training, event planning, EAP administration, union overtime equalization, HRIS updates and form administration, employee file maintenance, community events.
  • Collaborate with Talent Management team for recruitment, retention and development of employees aligned with company objectives including developing and mentoring the Human Resources staff.
  • Collaborate with Learning and Development team on initiatives to support employee development.
  • Collaborate with Business Unit management teams and HR Shared Services on performance evaluations, merit recommendation process and incentive compensation planning process.
  • Partners with executive leadership in writing job descriptions and site-specific policies.
  • Coordinate with the Corporate Benefits team to support all aspects of employee benefits and wellness initiatives.
  • Work with onsite plant Occupational Health Nurse to administer the transitional work and employee wellness programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by the HR Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • HR Certification preferred (SHRM-SCP, SPHR)
  • 7+ years of related Human Resources management experience
  • Prior experience in a union environment strongly preferred
  • Ability to contribute at the Executive level to business strategy and apply HR systems thinking to strategy
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Sound judgement, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable, flexible, and responsive. Acts with a sense of urgency.
  • Highest level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Ability to lead people, support and lead cultural organizational needs, and create career growth opportunities that support employee engagement and retention objectives
  • Working knowledge of employment law
  • Ability to travel up to 20% domestically
