This is a full-time, onsite position in Charlottesville, with flexible hybrid option, working Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5:30 PM.
Salary starting at $77,000, based on applicable skills and experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES HIGHLIGHTS
- Point of contact to answer employee questions and resolve issues regarding compensation, benefits, company policies, procedures, and other foundational HR processes.
- Plans and executes recruitment strategy.
- Owns the onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Is a trusted resource and coaches leaders and managers with employee relations issues.
- Strategizes and manages the performance management process through a lens of equity within the organization.
- Addresses employee relations issues such as harassment allegations, work complaints, and employee concerns. Leads internal investigations when appropriate.
- Manages learning & development at the organization, to include training and the company’s LMS administrator.
- Administers benefits programs.
- Processes payroll, adhering to all federal, state, and local regulations that govern how employees are paid.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the capability to work with employees at all levels of organization.

- Ability to handle information with strict confidentiality.
- Self-motivated, with a willingness to learn, keep up to date professionally/technically, and apply new knowledge to the job.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as a one-person HR department.
- Ability to meaningfully engage with issues of racial equity and inclusion.
- Organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines, with the ability to focus simultaneously on both big picture strategy and hands-on implementation.
MUST HAVES
- 3 years of core human resource functions experience, including recruiting, employee relations, compliance, and compensation.
- Highly organized self-starter, comfortable working independently as a one-person HR department.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check and other pre-employment screening.
- Reliable transportation to and from work, including occasional off site events.
- Strong computer skills and advanced working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications
GREAT TO HAVES
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, or related field
- Current HR Certification from SHRM and/or HRCI; SHRM-CP and/or PHR or above.
- Experience using ADP’s HRIS or HRIS comparable to.
- Good understanding of Learning Management System (LMS) function, options & capabilities.
- Prior experience in the non-profit sector, preferably working with marginalized populations
