JOB SUMMARY:

The Applied Textiles Human Resource Manager will be responsible for the functions of the Human Resources (HR) department of One (1) including recruiting, interviewing, and hiring Applied associates. Applied Textiles has two locations; Byron Center, MI and Graham, NC with approximately 70-80 employees. The position will also be responsible for administering pay, benefits, leave, and vacation. The position will actively develop company policies and practices with the leadership team.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruits, interviews, and delegates proper training programs to new and current associates.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations as well as manages the performance evaluations process.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with Applied Textiles company handbook

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partners with the Applied Textiles leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning. This is for both plants and administrative operations in Byron Center, MI and Graham, NC.
  • Manages the talent acquistion process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt and professional roles. Collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings and ongoing training development.
  • Administers benefits and payroll.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base on incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Provides support and guidance to the management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questiosn and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accomodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employee law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • A Minimum of three years of human resources experience is preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is highly desired
  • Experience with PAYCOR HRIS system is preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to understand the physical demands of Applied Textiles associates.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities. Active on floor and in office participation with associates is desired.
