The HR Generalist works within the HR department in the daily functions of the department with a focus on Benefits but also including Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, Employee Engagement and Retention, Compliance and Payroll. This position is responsible for providing HR functional excellence and people initiatives. Supports administration, coordination and application of company-wide human resources policies, procedures and practices. Acts as a liaison between HR and employees, ensuring smooth and timely communication and prompt resolution of requests and questions.

  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes
  • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries
  • Administers and processes all leave of absence requests and disability paperwork including medical, personal, disability and FMLA
  • Manages the benefits open enrollment process
  • Assists with the entire recruitment lifecycle, including creating job descriptions, attending job fairs, preparing offer letters, and onboarding new hires
  • Administers, processes and submits payroll information
  • Performs payroll related functions including but not limited to process new hires, terminations, status changes, tax changes, wage garnishments and deductions.
  • Resolves personnel concerns by conducting investigations, documenting findings and following up
  • Assists in the development of training programs for new and existing employees at all levels to achieve consistent performance to company standards
  • Provides assistance and coaching to supervisors in administering corrective action
  • Collaborates with the HR team on processes, procedures and documentation
  • Manages worker’s compensation process
  • Coordinates HR initiatives to ensure alignment with the organization’s mission to be the employer of choice.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of HR experience
  • 1-3 years experience in benefits administration
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience administering self-insured and/or fully insured medical plans
  • Knowledge of leave of absence
  • Knowledge of 401k plans
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of payroll, benefits and employment regulations and laws
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Knowledge of basic payroll principles
  • Knowledge of Paylocity a plus
  • Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • High level of integrity, initiative, and commitment to excellence
  • Ability to occasionally travel to local facilities/clinics
