In this key position as Director of Human Resources, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department inclusive of year-to-year review of Compensation and Benefit planning, on-going Recruitment, Employee Relations, Management and Employee Development and Training, Corporate Culture development, Employee Legal Issues, Intern Programs, development of Policy & Procedures, Employee Handbooks, Employee programs and activities. Act as Internal Consultant to Management in day-to-day operations. This position reports to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities include:
- Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, employee benefits plans, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; employee performance evaluation programs; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; training and development; EEO/AA filing and maintenance and all provisions of the collective bargaining agreement related to staffing issues.
- Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
- Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
- Develops and implements human resources departmental budget.
- Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for staff.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Service Field
- Minimum 8+ years’ experience working as an HR Director or Manager.
- Broad knowledge and experience with compliance, compensation, organizational planning, organization planning & development, employee relations, safety, training, and development, benefits administration, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven experience as a Payroll Director or Payroll Manager.
- Hands-on experience with payroll software.
- Budget management experience
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and process information from multiple sources and perspectives, and prepare and present executive summaries, recommendations, and reports.
- Ability to work independently, assume initiative and self-motivate
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to pass all background checks: SC Law Enforcement, Dept. of Social Services Abuse and Neglect, National Sex Offender Register, and the Department of Motor Vehicles and First Aid/CPR training and CPI training
