Our team is looking to hire a Human Resources Business Partner to oversee the HR operations and functions for our two California Stores and a Distribution Center, with a strong potential for growth! WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Manage and assist with associate promotions, transfers, and termination decisions in compliance with applicable company policies and employment laws
- Oversee CA talent acquisition strategy for Stores and California Distribution Center
- Use creative methods to attract and recruit qualified applicants
- Manage employee relations and ensure workplace concerns are being handled effectively and appropriately
- Oversee leave administration
- Advise managers on HR-related issues and/or other HR functions
- Help in the communication of Company Benefits plans to Distribution Center, working in conjunction with the Corporate Benefits Department to accurately get information to associates and help answer benefits-related questions
- Assist department with a variety of Human Resource responsibilities
- All other duties as assigned by Senior HR Manager
WHAT YOU WILL BRING ALONG:
- Must be outgoing, friendly, and able to engage others in conversation on the phone, in person and online
- A deep and foundational understanding of human resources principles, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the legal aspects of HR, including California HR law
- 4+ years of experience in a formal HR department with California Employee Relations experience - required
- Ability to develop a strong rapport with associates and effectively resolve difficult Employee Relations cases
- A 4-Year degree in a related field or equivalent experience, with preferred CP/SCP and/or PHR/SPHR certification. PHRca a plus!
- Strong ability to communicate with associates at all levels and a desire to be part of a dynamic team
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite and able to learn new software programs quickly
- Experience with a fully-integrated HRIS system
- Must be detail-oriented, accurate in maintaining records and electronic filing systems, and have the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Dependability, punctuality and excellent communication and problem-solving skills required
- Must be organized and professional with the ability to work without supervision
