The position of Human Resource Liaison will assist with building partnerships with designated academic units to create value-added HR services, which address the unique operational needs and direction of their specific units. This position is considered the first point of contact to provide resources for all employees, in the units they represent. Overall oversight is provided to the HR Liaisons by Central Office of Human Resources at the University. We are seeking to hire two (2) HR Liaison’s for the academic areas of the University.

This position is considered the first point of contact to provide resources for all employees, in the units they represent. Overall oversight is provided to the HR Liaisons by Central Office of Human Resources at the University. We are seeking to hire five (5) HR Liaison’s for the academic areas of the University.
The HR Liaison Will:
- Collaborate with departmental management to ensure that human resource transactions are created, reviewed and submitted timely and accurately.
- Ensure that all human resource transactions are being monitored to ensure that the process is followed from beginning to end.
- Collaborate with University central office HR to facilitate university recruitment.
- Ensure that all of the recruitment documentation is complete and accurate before sending to the Offices of Provost and Human Resources.
- Ensure that the onboarding for departmental faculty and staff is handled timely and that the required system/VSU assets are ordered and issued timely.
- Collaborate with departmental leadership to administer renewal employment contracts for eligible faculty.
- Serve as the first point of contact for all departmental human resource related matters.
- Provide base-level guidance relating to benefits, compensation, employee relations, time, attendance and absence management.
- Maintain documentation and facilitate data information transfer to central office HR.
- Be the Ambassador of First impressions for the Office of Human Resources by serving all customers in a positive, professional and ethical manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for Entry:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy;
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
Excellent with time management and multitasking;
Willingness to learn and ability to follow instructions is a must;
Ability to meet deadlines;
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software;
Proficient with, or the ability to quickly learn, payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications;
Ability to function very well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment;
Must have interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred, but Not Required:
Associates degree in human resources, business administration or related filed, or equivalent experience.
