***This position requires financial market experience working with the Healthcare Industry.
Primary Characteristics:
The Director – Business Development is responsible for identifying, originating and managing new Healthcare vendor programs across the Vendor Finance and Technology Finance business units of Huntington Asset Finance. The candidate will leverage their knowledge of sales, business development, marketing and strategy to ensure the Healthcare vertical meets its sales goals in the near-term while being positioned for success into the future.
The role will have frequent interaction with senior executives and sales leaders at partner and prospect companies, as well as senior executives within Huntington Asset Finance and Huntington Bank. The candidate will work independently, as well as partner with others at HTF and HVF, to identify new program and partner opportunities, and will work cross functionally to engage, propose, negotiate and close programs with the targeted healthcare equipment manufacturers, distributors, and other product and solution providers. Once a program is secured, the candidate will onboard/launch the program and train the vendor partner and Huntington commercial teams to drive shared success and growth for both organizations.
Post-program launch, the candidate will be responsible for managing the program which may include personally originating new transactions within the program parameters, or training, transitioning, and driving originations through other Technology Finance or Vendor Finance sales resources. Origination responsibilities include quoting transactions, negotiating transaction structures/documentation, and shepherding vendor partner transactions through the originations process. Candidate will be the primary interface between the vendor partners and Huntington’s sales, operations, credit/risk, legal, customer service and collections teams.
Essential Functions:
- Assess attractiveness and fit of Healthcare & Life Sciences market segments, and identify key targets for equipment financing program opportunities for Huntington Bank
- Identify, qualify, engage and close these Healthcare & Life Sciences vendor program opportunities, both new/build opportunities as well as “outsourcing” opportunities or competitive take-aways
- Facilitate and follow the Vendor Accreditation vendor onboarding processes, following established guidelines to engage cross-functional stakeholders and business leadership
- Prepare and negotiate program agreements, as well as transactional proposals and supporting documents and process flows
- Facilitate sales volume with assigned vendor partner relationships through direct/personal originations, sales through Huntington’s indirect/vendor program channels, and/or sales through Huntington’s direct/field enterprise sales reps as appropriate for each program
- Maintain assigned vendor partner relationships to drive volume and finance penetration growth; facilitate program reviews to drive mutual success
- Meet servicing requirements of assigned vendor partners
- Works closely with internal Huntington personnel to ensure timely response to all vendor requests and ensure continued support of the sales objectives and to ensure vendor partner responsiveness goals are achieved
- Partner with others across Huntington Technology Finance, Huntington Vendor Finance, and Huntington Corporate Banking to drive overall growth (OCR volume) in the Healthcare market.

Minimum Training and Experience:
- 5 plus years of proven experience in consultative sales with/and/or financing business development in Healthcare, Life Science or Technology
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience/expertise with positioning and selling leasing and financing products, and capable of preparing & providing training to others on leveraging leasing strategies
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Some credit underwriting experience or skills
