    Job Goals:
    • Assist with overseeing the Girls Basketball Program.
    • Motivate, develop, train, and supervise young women to play Basketball, both beginners and advanced players.
    • Commit to building an in-season and off-season young women's Basketball Program.
    • Is knowledgeable of practice planning with drills that develop shooting, ball handling, passing, conditioning, and pacing.
    • Instruct student-athletes in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
    • Teach and instruct student-athletes and provide guidance that will lead them to the formulation and enhancement of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, self-confidence and good sportsmanship.
    Performance Responsibilities:
    • Cooperate in a timely manner, with School Athletic Director and the District Athletic Department, in regard to requests for information that might be periodically required.
    • Meet all of the requirements set forth by the District Athletic Department and the Ohio Department of Education relative to the Coaches Tool Chest Trainings and and Pupil Activity Permit.
    • Check on the status of academic eligibility for all prospective student-athletes.
    • Follow the District Athletic Department Policy as outlined in the Coaches Handbook and meet all criteria as outlined in the job description.
    • Model the behavior that is expected of our student-athletes including: timeliness to practices and games, practicing constructive criticism, being positive and enthusiastic, being respectful, and promote good sportsmanship, etc. while upholding the disciplines of the program.
    • Set a positive example at all times while with student-athletes and be appropriately dressed at all times.
    • Develop respect through his/her example in appearance, behavior, language and conduct.
    • Maintain a suitable sideline conduct including the use of appropriate language at all games.
    • Recognize the need to be aware of and implement all applicable administrative policies set forth by the District Board of Education, Superintendent of Schools, School Principals, Conference Leagues, and the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OSHAA).
    • Schedule and complete a full season of contests including State Tournaments.
    • Begin pre-season practices on the first day permitted for the sport.
    • Provide all applicable in-season training rules as well as any that may apply to out-of-season conduct to student-athletes prior to the start of the season. Follow appropriate due process procedures when violations occur.
    • Participate in clinics and other available programs to improve coaching performance.
    • Participate in School Events (i.e., Awards Night, Pep Assemblies, Athletic Boosters Meetings, etc.).
    • Show physical vitality and enthusiasm for the sport and use good judgment in decision-making.
    • Accept and profit from constructive criticism and suggestions for improving coaching performance.
    • Is competent in the techniques of the sport and student-athletes respond positively to directions given.
    • Well-versed and knowledgeable in matters pertaining to the sport as well as look at to constantly improve knowledge and coaching techniques.
    • Ensure that team is well-prepared for opponents.
    • Provide motivation for team to meet/exceed their goals and stress the value of acceptable personal behavior by each student-athlete.
    • Maintains accurate inventory of equipment and supplies.
    Skills/Qualifications:
    • Funding experience
    • Previous High School Coaching Experience preferred.
    • Have ability to motivate and inspire others.
    • Serve as a positive role model.
    • Demonstrate knowledge and skills associated with the sport.
    • Work effectively in a multicultural environment.

    Trainings/Certifications:
    • Ohio Secondary Teaching Certificate preferred.
    • Evidence of successful past coaching experience at the high school or college level is preferred.
    • Provide a satisfactory result on a County Police Records Check, State BCII Check, and a FBI Fingerprint Background Check. Possess an Ohio Department of Education Pupil Activity Permit. Provide proof of completion of Coaches Tool Chest Trainings/Certificate.
    CONTRACT PROVISIONS:
    TYPE OF CONTRACT: Supplemental Annual Limited
    SALARY: Per Schedule E of current C.F.T. Labor Agreement
