Housekeeper
Paradise Valley Estates
Paradise Valley Estates (PVE) is an 80 acre, premier life plan community located in the foothills of Napa Valley in Fairfield, California. Founded originally as a military community, PVE has evolved to include all members of the community but the military heritage and values of Honor, Authenticity, Collaboration and Service still exist.
Job Responsibilities and Competencies:
- Assures that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner
- Follows established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies
- Follows established Universal Precautions when performing housekeeping procedures
- Cleans, washes, sanitizes, and polishes bathroom fixtures
- Cleans windows and mirrors
- Cleans floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp or wet mopping, stripping, waxing, and buffing disinfecting
- Uses proper safety signs when performing floor work
- Cleans carpet, to include vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing and disinfecting
- Cleans walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, or deodorizing
- Removes dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from surfaces using proper cleaning solutions
- Cleans hallways, stairways, and elevators
- Discards waste and trash into proper containers and relines trash receptacles with plastic liners
- Reports all hazardous conditions or equipment to the Housekeeping Supervisor
- Reports all unusual activity by residents or others, affecting safety or security of other residents or of Paradise Valley Estates in general to the Housekeeping Supervisor
- Assures that equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift
- Reports burned out light bulbs, and exit lights to the Housekeeping Supervisor
- Follows assigned work and cleaning schedule as closely as practical
- Maintains an adequate supply of housekeeping supplies on assigned cleaning cart
- Changes bed linen and exchanges bathroom towels
- Cleans drinking fountains, and public areas
- Assures that residents' rights to fair and equitable treatment, self determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to register complaints, are followed
- Performs other jobs as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a housekeeping department is desirable but not necessary.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Comfortable and capable of working independently while cultivating the spirit of teamwork and service with the team members and residents of Paradise Valley Estates.
- Cheerful and outgoing personality.
- Able to pass a Department of Social Services background check and drug screening.
- May be required to work some weekends and holidays.
