Position Summary
The Hospice Liaison is responsible for modeling the 3 Company values of Compassion, Integrity, and Excellence, and for promoting the Compassus philosophy, using the 6 Pillars of success as the foundation. S/he is responsible for upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct and for promoting positive working relationships within the Company, among all departments, and all external stakeholders. The Hospice Liaison is responsible for development of the hospice program through processing consents and managing the pipeline of potential patients. S/he is responsible for applying the rules and regulations of state and federal regulatory agencies and other certified agencies.
Position Specific Responsibilities
- Provides accurate information regarding hospice services in response to inquiries by healthcare providers and general public.
- Processes all consents as assigned, as is measured on conversions of referrals to admissions.
- Conducts informational visits.
- Manages the pipeline of potential patients on a daily basis, including following up with Hospice Care Consultants, sales leaders, referral sources, and patients and their families.
- Participates in community and organizational programs as requested to promote professional growth and understanding of hospice care.
- Participates in the quality and performance improvement process of the hospice program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or health related field preferred.
- One (1) to two (2) years of related experience highly preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience in health care marketing preferred.
Skills
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, colleagues, investors, and external parties. Strong written and verbal communications.
- Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English. Articulates and embraces hospice philosophy. Strong organizational and time management skills. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends. Must be able to travel. Ability to work independently in the management of assigned responsibilities. Must be able to relate and work with the disabled, ill, elderly, emotionally upset and, at times, hostile people within the facility or home setting.
