Summary of Position:

Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health is hiring a full-time nurse for the Nurse-Family Partnership Program (NFP). Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) is an evidence-based home visiting program that pairs first-time mothers who are affected by income inequity with a registered nurse to promote healthy pregnancies, child development, and economic self-sufficiency. The NFP nurse supports and promotes health through delivery of intensive home visitation and case management services, with a focus on improved pregnancy outcomes, improved child health and development, positive parenting and family self-sufficiency. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision to perform nursing services as assigned. This is a grant-funded position and may include a limited number of hours worked outside of 8-5 M-F to meet the needs of families for nurse home visits. There is also minimal out-of-state travel required for training in the Nurse Family Partnership Program.

As an employee of Public Health, all staff must participate in emergency preparedness response activities and report during a public health emergency or disaster situation.

Special Requirements

• Two years recent experience in maternal/child health and lactation preferred.
• Must have vehicle for use while on duty.
• Possession of valid drivers license.
• Must be able to attend National Training.
