Job description

The Greenskeeper is responsible for assisting with the maintenance of the golf course and all other assets of the POA. This position reports to the Golf Course Superintendent.

Essential duties include but are not limited to:

Uses lawnmowers, garden tractors, and similar machines to maintain the golf course.

Performs heavy physical work; hazards are moderate requiring care and use of proper safety equipment and procedures to prevent injury.

Participates in safety training and assists in maintaining safe work practices.

Communicates with the public and other employees in a professional and courteous manner.

Other duties as assigned.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

· Knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in golf course and building maintenance.

· Ability to communicate effectively.

EDUCATION/FORMAL TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

· High School diploma or equivalent required.

· Previous experience maintaining golf courses or lawns preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Work tasks are performed indoors and outdoors. Temperature will vary depending on location.

· Frequently required to walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

· Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

· Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.

· Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions.

· Occasionally exposed to vibration and chemicals.

· Due to the nature of the industry, the Greenskeeper may be required to work varying schedules due to business needs.

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
