Full Time Group Facilitator - Sun City, AZ
Emerald Isle Health and Recovery is looking for a Group Facilitator to assist with the treatment of patients who have various behavioral problems, such as substance abuse and mental health disorders. The Group Facilitator position is expected to understand and aid in implementation individual treatment plans, monitor patient behavior and provide a safe, supportive environment for the patients. Group Facilitators may provide comprehensive case management services and transportation along with assisting in daily activities, both therapeutic and recreational. Group facilitators have a primary responsibility to facilitate both substance abuse focused and behavioral health focused group sessions.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitates structured daily groups for program patients across both behavioral health and substance abuse-focused subject matters.
- Admits new clients by reviewing records and applications, conducting orientations.
- Establishes treatment programs by setting schedules and routines; coordinating services being provided; arranging resources, including transportation and escort.
- Monitors cases by verifying clients’ attendance; observing and evaluating treatments and responses; advocating for needed services and entitlements; obtaining additional resources; intervening in crises; providing personal support.
- Maintains clients’ records by reviewing case notes, logging events and progress.
- Prepares clients’ discharge by reviewing and amplifying discharge plans; coordinating discharge and post-discharge requirements; orienting and training family members; providing resources.
- Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Participates in quality assurance and patient engagement/satisfaction initiatives as a function of the facility’s quality improvement program.
- Additional duties as assigned by Clinical and/or Executive Director.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Bachelors in related healthcare field preferred.
- 3+ years customer service experience, preferably in human services, possess demonstrated commitment to customer service.
- Professional or personal experience supporting individuals with disabilities, mental illnesses, or challenging behaviors highly preferred. Must be able to be added to insurance policies.
- Satisfactory criminal background check and Motor Vehicle Report.
- Satisfactory Drug Screen
- Satisfactory references from employers and/or professional peers.
- Strong verbal communication, especially with regards to client family communication.
- Strong staff management skills.
- Ability to relate, on many levels, with clients, strong crisis management skills.
- Understanding of 12-step recovery, substance abuse, and behavioral health issues.
- Comprehensive understanding of recovery communities and dynamics.
