We are looking for an experienced front desk candidate with a medical background who understands how a medical or optometry office works. The receptionist will be responsible for all registration functions including patient check-in and checkout. Patient should have working knowledge of a copay and deductible.

Applicants should have prior experience in a medical setting and must be able to communicate effectively and professionally.

Office is fast paced, and applicants should be able to multitask and prioritize assigned duties.

Candidate must be able to work well with others and communicate well with the team. Candidate must promote a high level of customer service and be a critical thinker.

Candidate will be the “Gatekeeper” helping to ensure that the patients are seen on time and in order.

Candidate must complete the Assessment sent by Indeed within 24 hours of receipt. If you do not receive an Assessment from Indeed within 2-4 hours of applying, please contact Indeed or contact Northeast Eye Center. The candidate must be able to follow directions and troubleshoot. If you do not complete the assessment, you automatically will be disqualified for not following directions.

Candidate should be prepared for a phone and/or video interview and may be asked to participate in a live phone interview before coming in to the workplace for an in person interview.

Hours and Schedule: Mon-Thursday 7:45 am to 5:00 pm and 7:45 am-12:00 pm Friday.

Responsibilities Include:

· Greet and welcome all incoming patients promptly and courteously.

· Answer all incoming phone calls/voicemails/missed calls.

· Scheduling patients including reaching out for:

· Confirmations.

· Reschedules.

· Cancellations/No Shows

· Demographics Review of patients charts to ensure phone/address are correct and all forms are up to date. Scanning patient paperwork into chart.

· Check patients in and out as needed.

· Schedule any patient referrals for surgery.

· Assist as needed with insurance verification.

· Other duties as assigned.

Experience in the eyecare field preferred but willing to train the right candidate.

Training consists of on demand video training as well as on the job training. A training Manual will be provided to each candidate. It is the candidate’s responsibility to learn the manual and be prepared to be tested on it.

The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, self-motivated, enjoys working with people, understands that patients come first, and genuinely want to help improve the patient experience. This position is not for someone who just wants an "office job" or who is looking for little to no responsibility. Our patients pay our salaries by choosing to visit our office. Every time we interact with these patients, this knowledge should be at the forefront.
