Job Summary:

The Food Services Assistant (FSA) performs all functions related to customer meal delivery. This includes but is not limited to preparing customer meals in the cafeteria, preparing patient meals as part of the tray line service, operating the cash register, dishwashing, maintaining stock inventory, and ensuring general cleanliness of the cafeteria. The FSA maintains sanitation standards in all assigned work areas.

Minimum Qualifications for the Job:

• Education: High School diploma or the equivalent required. Confirmation of completion is required within 90 days of hire.

• Experience: Previous experience in institutional food service is preferred.

• Certification(s): Must obtain an Alaska Food Worker Card within 60 days of hire.

Please note: In lieu of fringe benefits, casual employees receive a $2 an hour casual differential in addition to their hourly base rate of pay . Casual employees will not be scheduled to work a full time schedule for more than four (4) consecutive months or more than 780 hours annually. Casual employees must work a minimum of one (1) shift within a 90 day period to maintain status and employment.

Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
