Julia Testa Flowers is a well respected floral design company in New York, NY. We have locations in both SoHo Manhattan and Brooklyn. We are looking for a full-time Senior florist and the position is available immediately! This role requires that you have 10+ years experience as a trained florist and know and understand both modern and garden style design. You must know flower pricing and be able to buy and price flowers appropriately for the retail store and for events.

**Must be able to make a dutch-hand tie and must know how to make designs in a tapped vase and oasis foam.

**Must be expert level with using a knife (not just clippers).

Our organization has two locations -- one in Brooklyn and one in Manhattan. Candidates must be willing to work in either location depending on production needs.

This role will focus on:

High-level floral design (both garden style and modern design are required)

Knowledge of flower varieties and seasonality

Knowledge of budgeting, costs, pricing

Relationship Building Understanding art, style, and use of color.

Cleaning flowers, prepping flowers for events.

Must be team oriented with a positive and friendly attitude.

Present as a credible resource and positive and amiable brand ambassador while delivering an excellent customer experience.

Must be organized and able to keep on top of multiple orders and complicated projects.

Must have strong Math skills for budgeting and ordering materials

Must have strong attention to detail

Our Ideal Candidate • 10+ years experience as a florist • Relevant experience in customer service and/or boutique retail • Reliable, enthusiastic and self-motivated with extraordinary attention to detail • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Passionate about floral design • Maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic and fast-paced environment • Must be fluent in English • Ability to lift 30 lbs and stand on their feet for up to 8-10 hours a day

**Only senior experienced florists will be considered.

Secondary responsibilities include being responsible for assisting retail customers with floral arrangements and retail display shop upkeep.

This is a full-time position. Candidates must be willing and able to work weekends. Schedule is Wednesday-Sunday 9am-6pm

The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating beautiful floral arrangements and will be able to work with a variety of flowers and materials. The successful candidate must be able to work quickly and accurately while providing excellent customer service. This position requires the ability to think outside the box and come up with creative designs that will wow our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Design and create floral arrangements for special occasions.
• Understand the principles of design, color, texture, and form.
• Be knowledgeable about flower varieties and their care requirements.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Communicate with customers to determine their needs and preferences.
• Provide customer service by answering questions and offering advice on floral selections.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
