Summary

Looking for a full time or part time assistant teacher/ floater for a 59 child childcare program in Shelburne, VT! Must have the flexibility to work with infants (6 weeks) through 5 years old. Normal hours of operation are 7am-6pm. Current hours of operation are 7:30am - 5:15 pm due to covid restrictions.

Duties

Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play.
Attend to children's basic needs.
Teach basic skills, such as color, shape, number/ letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills.
Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order.
Read books to entire classes or to small groups.
Enforce all administration policies and rules.
Assimilate arriving children to the school environment by greeting them, helping them remove outerwear, and selecting activities of interest to them.
Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
Arrange indoor and outdoor space to facilitate creative play, motor-skill activities, and safety.
Attend professional meetings and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.
Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students' needs and progress.
Assist with classroom maintenance

High school diploma
