The Float Ultrasound Technician travels to multiple clinics and works directly with patients and physicians and operates equipment that uses high-frequency soundwaves to take images and scans of the body's internal organs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Travels to multiple clinics for coverage.
  • Performs diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data.
  • Schedules and coordinates tests, records test results, and prepares and maintains operational logs.
  • Calibrates and maintains equipment and orders supplies when needed.
  • Records and maintains test data and prepares preliminary interpretations of test results.
  • Explains ultrasound equipment and procedures to patients.
  • Prepares ultrasound equipment and exam rooms for examinations.
  • Adheres to HIPPA requirements, including strict confidentiality of patient information and testing.
  • Alerts referring medical staff of any abnormalities that require immediate attention.
  • Operates equipment under authorized diagnostic approaches and practices.
  • Problem-solves and makes decisions regarding patient testing.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.

Qualifications:

  • 2-year Allied Health degree.
  • Successful completion of an approved 1-year program in Ultrasound Technology.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the field.
  • Willingness to travel to multiple clinics to provide coverage is required. (Mileage Reimbursement provided)

Job Types: Full-time, Travel healthcare

Pay: $52,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
