The hours are 7 am - 4pm.

The position will include the following functions:
Supports the annual budgets, long range plans, and periodic forecasting updates.
Prepares and analyzes financial reports for internal customers, senior management and parent company.
Interprets detailed cost accounting information and exercises discretion and creativity on assignments of a varied, diverse and challenging nature.
Assists in solving problems in areas where no precedent exists.
POSITION DEMANDS
Position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other business-related field is required. Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in an analytical accounting or financial role. Professional designation or MBA a plus. Previous accounting/financial role for a government contractor, a plus. Strong mathematical ability to include algebraic formulas is a must. Intermediate-level Microsoft Excel experience is required. Deltek CostPoint experience, a plus. Excellent analytical, conceptual, communication and interpersonal skills. Strong initiative and ability to manage competing priorities; willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to the Director, Finance Department. Interfaces with all levels of personnel within the business units, accounting and finance personnel of NASSCO and General Dynamics companies, and external auditors.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares and submits monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports to parent company. Supports the development of quarterly business updates and 4-year operating plan to include income statements for three divisions, company balance sheet, cash flow and backlog. Supports the development of the capital plan and assists internal customers with capital project authorization packages and determination of capital treatment in accordance with GAAP. Supports the preparation and analysis of the monthly actual expense versus plan management reports. Sustains the indirect department budgeting cycle. Works with budgetary owners to establish initial spending plans. Holds monthly meetings to monitor activity and track variances to plan. Reforecasts spending plans for quarterly business updates. Assists in contract estimates at completion analyses and the revenue close. Supports compliance activities to include incurred cost submissions and audits, forward pricing rate submissions and audits, etc. Assists with analytical trouble-shooting and problem resolution.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Responsible for ensuring that all reporting is prepared accurately, timely and in accordance with customer specifications. Responsible for providing accurate decision support data to management in a timely and accurate manner.
