Position Description Summary:
The Finance Manager assists in the day-to-day oversight of all financial, accounting, and tax-related obligations of DANTeC to ensure transparency in financial reporting and full compliance with guidelines and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”). DANTeC is the Detroit Airlines’ North Terminal Consortium.
The Finance Manager will build effective working relationships and develop/observe agreeable billing instructions to support adequate reporting for rates and charges updates, invoicing, and timely payment of invoices. The Finance Manager will also work with the vendor management teams to develop thorough and transparent reporting, invoicing, and monthly auditing procedures to provide adequate insight to support financial controls and effective decision making.
The Finance Manager will be responsible for and guide finance and accounting functions. The essential duties of the position will include the following activities:
· Working with vendors to develop billing and payment procedures and directing the development of annual operating budgets.
· Assisting in monitoring and controlling vendor budgets.
· Assisting in preparing/assembling annual operating and project budgets.
· Assisting in the oversight of financial matters relating to consortium receivables, expenses, record keeping, reporting, tax filings, and management of accounts.
· Developing, implementing, and managing systems to facilitate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting to include: income statements, balance sheets, budget-to-actual reports, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial projections, account reconciliations, and activity-based financial reporting by airline, cost center, and/or other matrices as necessary to support effective decision making.
· Overseeing vendor contractual insurance requirements.
· Updating capital cost allocation model and verify debt service charges for consortium equipment.
· Monitoring and controlling accounts, banking, and cash flow.
· Preparing income tax filings, coordinating audits, and IRS inquiries.
· Providing annual and periodic activity and financial reports.
· Conducting other administrative and clerical duties.
· Other duties as assigned.

· Must be proficient in all Office applications with particular emphasis in spreadsheet and word processing, demonstrated experience in QuickBooks, Sage Accounting programs, or similar accounting software as required.
· Ability to read and evaluate budgets, financial statements, and P&L reports.
· Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist.
· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of executives, employees, clients, customers, and the general public.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Demonstrated proficient level of MS office tools.
· Local demonstrated experience in Detroit will be considered a plus.
Professional Requirements:
· Undergraduate or higher degree in finance, accounting or related field. CPA strongly preferred.
· A minimum of seven (7) years preferred in Financial Management, Accounting, or similar position
· Must be eligible to obtain all Airport staff access and security clearances from the Authorities, including testing negative for substance abuse prior to beginning employment.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit for long periods of time, bend, use hands to manipulate (type), utilize small hand tools, talk and hear; walk; sit, and lift or move no more than ten (10) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral visions, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information, and documents; analyze and solve problems, use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or new skills; work under deadlines with occasional interruptions, and interact with staff and other organizations.
Working Conditions:
Primarily in an office environment.
