The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the financial and business operations of the organization. The manager will maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure of the agency, and will regularly assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the financials.
The Finance Manager will understand the various functions of COMPASS’ two main programs to be able to create internal budgets and reporting. The Finance Manager will report to the Executive Director and work closely with the Senior Director of Administration and the Payroll Administrator.

Financial Control
● Continually review, maintain and improve operations of the finance department in collaboration with the Senior Director of Administration and the Executive Director
● Provide information and resolve issues raised by the Senior Director of Administration, the Executive Director, independent auditors and funding agencies
● Support the organizations coding of all vendor invoices, credit card charges, ACH payments, employee expense records, other expenses and all revenues through a thorough understanding of the accounts and departmental structure
● Research/resolve related questions to expenses and revenues in a timely manner
● Create internal budgets for programmatic processes and services
● Create systems to record, track and analyze the various systems and processes of the finances at COMPASS

Business Control
● Support documentation and submission for contracts and leases
● Monitor and analyze department workflows to develop efficient procedures and use of resources
● Conform with and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies and procedures
● Work with the Director of Development to track, monitor and analyze the spending of contributions
● Work with eCratchit and the Senior Director of Administration to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit and other audits
● Conduct a cost analysis of insurance policies, retirement policies and employee benefits, as needed
● Calculate individual compensation package for all employees, annually

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
● BA/BS degree in Business, Accounting or related field
● 3-5 years experience in a finance, accounting or related field role
● Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail
● Ability to set and revise policies and procedures
● Ability to think strategically, proactively, and the ability to implement projects on a tactical level
● Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet all required deadlines
● Strong oral and written communication skills
● Ability to communicate and work with people with a wide range of cultural background, training and experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
