Field Operator


YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The primary responsibilities of this role, Field Operator, are to:

  • Field Operator will be performing all tasks related to agronomic operations including but not limited to:
    • Proper identification and use of land preparation equipment, able to evaluate the results of a proper land preparation, equipment inspections, equipment maintenance (cleaning, housekeeping, compressed air filters and radiator cleaning, greasing and oil levels verifications),Tire inspections and pressure check, hydraulic leak inspections, mowing, generator movement, light tower and generator fuel cart movement and tank filling, Field Maintenance, Field Cultivation with and without fertilizer, Field destruction, Volunteer destruction and equipment clean out documentation;
  • Collects and enters data using agriculture technologies;
  • Adopt new technologies, methodologies and process improvements on open field agronomic activities;
  • Adhere to Bayer’s Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) standards and complete and/or participate in safety inspections/training and comply with all policies and standard operating procedures; Report issues that may affect quality of products to supervisors; alert supervisor of any risk or issues where the employee’s or workplace safety be in danger;
  • Use and maintain in good conditions the personal protection equipment (PPE) according to Safety Program;
  • Assist in other projects and duties as required or assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • Ability to understand and communicate effectively, both verbally and written;
  • Ability to learn applicable technology, to include (but not limited to) handheld devices and desktop computers;
  • Ability to function both individually and as a member of a team;
  • Availability to work full-time (40 hours per week) with ability to meet overtime demands including occasional shift work, weekends, and holidays;
  • Willing and able to work in a variety of areas fields, and/or protected culture;
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly;

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Ability to operate machinery and agriculture equipment;
  • Restricted Use Pesticide Applicator License (Sprayer Operators);
  • General understanding of WPS procedures (labeling, posting, information center);
  • General knowledge on field equipment maintenance;
  • Strong attention to details and accuracy.
