Certified HERS Rater

ICS Inspectors, LLC is seeking a reliable and motivated individual to fill the position of a Certified HERS Rater to perform inspections of newly constructed homes to ensure compliance with building code standards. Some experience is necessary, and additional training is provided. The salary ranges from $55,000 to $80,000 depending upon background, experience, and management potential. A Certified HERS Rater is Responsible for:

Traveling daily to multiple residential development sites

Conducting a variety of energy efficiency testing and punch list inspections on newly constructed homes

Collecting all required inspection data and completing daily reports of inspections

Maintain GPS daily driving mileage log

Training builders and subs as a Building Science Expert

Maintaining CEU’s every 3 years

An Ideal Candidate has:

Solid communication skills with a positive attitude

Intermediate computer skills

Prior construction experience and/or have the ability to read building plans (ICC 79 Ideal – Residential Energy Inspector/Plans Examiner)

Good physical condition to carry up to 50 pounds of equipment, climb ladders, and hoist themselves up into attic spaces.

A valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance and be prepared to drive a radius of up to 60 miles (mileage is reimbursed).

ICS offers a career development plan where HERS Raters can earn the credential of Regional HERS Rater (Home Energy Rating System Rater). A Regional HERS Rater will be leading up to 8 HERS Raters and will be able to manage, train, and develop their team to maintain the company culture.
