Job description

We are seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of OLT equipment and related devices. The technician will work closely with the network engineering team to ensure that the OLT equipment is operating at optimal levels.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate's or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field preferred
• Relevant experience and/or certifications in fiber optic technology and networking is required
• Strong knowledge of fiber optic technology and networking protocols required
• Knowledge of SSH required
• Knowledge of Cisco technology required
• Knowledge of CAT5/6 required
• Knowledge of lc-sc connections required
• Ability to read kmz files required
• Ability to open and send pdf files
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends when necessary
• Willing to travel
• Valid driver’s license required
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain OLT equipment
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to OLT equipment and related devices
• Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on OLT equipment
• Monitor and optimize system performance
• Work with the network engineering team to ensure network efficiency and security
• Document all maintenance and repair activities
• Provide technical support to other teams as needed
