El Dorado Community Health Centers, a FQHC (Federally Qualified Healthcare Center) offering Primary Care Services with locations in Placerville and Cameron Park, is seeking a full-time Eye Care Technician for the Placerville location. As a non-profit community health center EDCHC provides Medical, Dental, Optical, Pharmacy, Behavioral Health and SUD Treatment Services to underserved populations.
Job Summary:
The Eye Care Technician will work under the supervision and guidance of the Optometrist. The primary duties are to assist the Optometrist with eye examinations and optical duties. Primary job duties include performing optometry exam testing and eyeglass selection. The Eye Care Technician is responsible for helping the Optometrist provide efficient and effective optometric/optical services, with a focus on customer service to our patients. This position will be cross trained for other duties in the vision care clinic.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 1-2 years of experience as an Eye Care or Optometric Technician.
- High School Diploma required.
- Associates degree in related optical field or certification as an Eye Care or Optometric Technician is desired.
- Additional experience in working at a rural health center or FQHC preferred.
- CPR Certification required.
- Bilingual preferred.
