Proficient Engineering is seeking to hire a professional mechanical engineer with 4-12 years’ experience in commercial MEP plumbing engineering design. The ideal candidate would have AutoCAD/Revit experience, be motivated to quickly move into a leadership position. Proficient designs about 1,000 projects across the country per year and across a diverse spectrum of private and public project types.
Proficient Engineering, Inc. has an immediate opening for a full-time experienced Mechanical Engineer in our Denver office. The opening is in the Plumbing department, where the engineered design involves a wide variety of piping systems on commercial projects. This is a career opportunity for an individual with the right attitude, aptitude and ability to add technical competence to our rapidly growing office. Candidates must be able to work independently with only general supervision, receive and understand broad guidelines, and complete projects within defined standards and specifications.

Responsibilities
- Usage of CAD / Revit
- Meet project deadlines
- Attend weekly department meetings
- Attend Lunch and Learns
- Communicate with team
- Help our marketing team target and win new clients.
- Meet perspective clients for lunch
- Network and reach out to local architects
- Produce proposals and negotiate fees.
- Project manage MEP Teams.
- Attend kick-off meetings with local architects
- Perform site visits in local area
- Coordinate questions/needs list with client
- Coordinate project schedules/deliverables
- Engineering support will be provided as needed from Atlanta office
- Oversee office operations
- Review workload and current staff
- Search for bottle necks in the office production
- Interview and hire engineers
- Employee reviews
- Review revenues/expenses/profits
Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited school
- Minimum 4 years’ experience with PE (LEED AP a plus)
- Experience in AutoCAD and Revit
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects within a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated attitude
- Strong desire to excel in this field and grow a dynamic office
