Title: Program Assistant

Work Type: On-Site

Schedule: Sat-Sun, 3pm - 11pm

Pay: $14.32/hour

SUMMARY

Responsible for direct oversight of the day-to-day operations of the facility and provide general and immediate response to client situations. Also, responsible for providing assistance in the supervision of facility clients and ensure a safe environment is provided for all.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Assure that Daily/Weekly/Monthly schedule of chores are completed by residents in a satisfactory and timely manner.
  • Assign tasks to clients of INNterim and assure they are carried out satisfactorily.
  • Assure that bathrooms have sufficient personal supplies on a daily basis.
  • Ensure responsibility for the safety of the facility daily and respond appropriately to emergencies.
  • Assume responsibility for observing when maintenance supplies need re-ordering and inform the House Manager accordingly.
  • Ensure a peaceful and respectful atmosphere in all programs.
  • Participate in education group with clients as assigned.

SECONDARY DUTIES

  • Assume responsibility for storing maintenance supplies in proper location and keeping an adequate supply available for daily use.
  • Observe where repairs/replacements may be needed and report same to House Manager for direction and follow-up.
  • Complete client behavior reports when necessary.
  • Write nightly update in communication log.
  • Attend and fully participate in all necessary staff meetings, other internal meetings, and meetings with on and off-site service providers.
  • Create an atmosphere of care and respect for clients.
  • Attend meetings and events related to St. Vincent de Paul.
  • Uphold the Vision, Mission, and Values of St. Vincent de Paul.
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability and willingness to relate with others in a respectful manner, and work well as a team member.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries with program participants, and to refer participants appropriately to case management staff.
  • Sensitivity to the needs and concerns of persons who are materially poor and/or homeless, and the ability to be comfortable working with persons of all socioeconomic, religious, and ethnic backgrounds in a non-judgmental manner.
  • An understanding and respect for the confidentiality of clients.
  • Ability to organize oneself, one’s work, and other persons sufficiently to accomplish the required daily tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.32 per hour
