Job Purpose
The End-User Experience (EUX) Systems Engineer works with the Lead EUX Engineering to build processes, core applications, device drivers, firmware and security patches that are deployed to CPK/HEM/JMH end-user devices.
In addition, the role works closely with vendors and suppliers to define equipment standards for PCs as well as mobile devices based on Microsoft Windows, iOS, or Android (but not limited to). As a member of the EUX Engineering Team, this position will engineer, certifies, and manage the system management tools that deploy software and business applications to end-user devices. Driving a self-service approach for end-users rounds up this profile.
Job Context & Major Challenges
Deliver a world class user-experience by understanding user`s expectations and drive continuous improvements as they relate to processes and services. Continuously support and challenge third-party providers to meet and exceed their targets.- The EUX Systems Engineer will be the specialists in anything, and everything related to endpoint Configuration Management.
- This position will lead all aspects of the day-to-day management and health of our internal end user devices by managing the different global endpoint Management environments to keep devices and applications up to date, under pre-defined compliance standards, and aligned with modern standards.
Accountability
- Manage the operational aspects of system management tools used for PC as well as mobile device management.
- Manage the operational aspects of end-user's PCs and mobile devices connected to Huber business networks (excluding Process Control Networks and other OT networks)
- Global Desktop application management and Application Deployment.
- Build and maintain Global Windows 10 disk Image and software packaging.
- Provide Level 3 Support to the End User Experience (EUX) Operations Team (Desktop Support).
- Patch Management for workstation clients and Servers.
- Define and execute global baseline configurations for end user devices using endpoint management tools as well as Active Directory group policies.
- Crafting and updating technical documentation as required.
- Deploying, troubleshooting, and managing Bitlocker encryption on Windows devices.
- Create solutions that promote system stability and business continuity in the event of disaster recovery
- Learn and implement new cutting-edge technologies and deliver on the transition to modern management tools.
- Drive End User Self Service by identifying, architecting, and designing end user self-service solutions.
- Drive the standardization of equipment and its firmware, drivers, configuration, and software.
- Work with the rest of the EUX Engineering Team to architect and engineer the transition to a highly available and light-touch end user device deployment toolset.
- Ability to diagnose EUX infrastructure issues and implement a fix in accordance with SLA's.
- Support the company's IT Knowledge Base, by frequently submitting internal IT process documents (SOPs) and End User 'How-to' Guides (KBAs) to drive a consistent end user experience and further self-service.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree within Information Technology field of Study, or equivalent work experience- Minimum 5 years of IT experience and 3 years of EUX focus area expertise with a comparably sized or larger company.
- Infrastructure services vendor management experience.
- Working knowledge of ITIL Service Management.
- Basic Manufacturing Knowledge & Mission critical support 24x7x365 experience.
- Proven ability to partner with the business and IT to execute EUX strategy.
- Experience in ongoing management of managed service providers.
- Excellent ability to understand and prioritize customer complaints and escalations.
- Demonstrated project expertise with end-user computing service delivery improvements.
- Experience working with onshore and offshore teams.
- Experience working with insourced and outsourced IT Operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent teamwork and collaborative skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity programs.
- Demonstrated experience in endpoint system management processes and tools.
Misc. Requirements
- Ability to travel globally 0-10%.
- Ability to work and provide support in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to provide support via phone if needed.
- Ability to provide on-call escalation support in case of critical incidents.
- Ability to lift and haul equipment up to 50 lbs. and crawl under workstations to install and maintain equipment.
