JOB FUNCTIONS
ESSENTIAL
- Assist driver in escorting oversize / overweight equipment
- Follow and maintain loading protocols; using chains, binders, blocks, and straps to secure cargo
- Proper vehicle maintenance practices
- Assist in loading and unloading cargo
- Follow all traffic safety regulations and exercise caution in difficult circumstances
- Communicate all unsafe vehicle or road conditions to management
- Ensure truck always has sufficient fuel
- Report all vehicle related issues for urgent attention
- Maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, etc.
MARGINAL
- Practices safely and competently within job description
- Any other functions specified by executive management
- Must be willing and able to work weekends and after hours
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid drivers license
- 3+ years of no major driving violations
- Knowledge of farm and construction equipment preferred
- Capability of basic mechanical knowledge preferred
- Maturity and ability to deal effectively with demands of the job
- Good physical and emotional health
- Enthusiasm for company products and desire to deliver them safely and on time
- Knowledge of basic driving rules and regulations
- Knowledge of DOT compliance to assist drivers escorting oversized loads
- Ability to operate heavy machinery, such as forklift
- Must be able to perform all aspects of the position unassisted
- Installation of company communication application on cellular device
- Must be 21 years of age
