Job description
In order to be considered for appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law, or be appointed in accordance with provisions provided by Civil Service Law, Section 55b/c.
- Reviewing environmental studies and other project documentation and making recommendations to higher level management;
- Reviewing and conducting environmental technical analyses;
- Interpreting and applying environmental regulations and requirements;
- Coordinating/consulting with environmental agencies;
- Assisting with public involvement activities; and
- Advising other areas within the Department on environmental rules and regulations and assisting with the development of policies and procedures.
Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
