Moog Medical Devices Group is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer. You will be responsible for leading the development and sustainment of the EHS program in the Medical Devices, Salt Lake City Facility.
In this role you will oversee the following: Health and Safety, Environmental, Dangerous Goods Transportation, and Emergency Planning.
Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead the EHS program
  • Assess Federal and State regulations applicable to the facility and ensure they are met.
  • Develop, manage, and implement site specific EHS programs.
  • Lead or support role in compliance audits. Responsible for responding to and developing/executing action plans for audit findings.
  • Lead Safety committee and site emergency planning. Lead emergency coordinator.
  • Be available to respond to site chemical, environmental, or safety emergencies.
  • Conduct site reviews of chemical handling and storage.
  • Conduct education and training with site personnel.
  • Review new products for environmental risks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • BS in Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Occupational Health & Safety or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an EHS role

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a team setting
  • Experience with EPA, NFPA, OSHA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
  • 9/80 work schedule
  • Ability to relocate to the Salt Lake City, UT area
  • Hybrid Work Schedule
  • Ability to access US export-controlled information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with medical device manufacturing and warehousing
  • Experience with waste management, emergency response to chemical spills, and OSHA compliance
  • Experience with Utah regulatory requirements
  • Experience with lean manufacturing
  • Experience with change management
