Job Title: Environmental Engineer

Location: South Greer, SC

Position type: Onsite

Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Develops, presents, and explains proposals, reports, and findings to management.
  • Monitors new regulations, legislation and permits for above assigned area(s) of responsibility. Analyzes and assesses potential impact to company operations. Develops, implements, and audits cost-effective methods for compliance with requirements.
  • Creates process sheets and work instructions detailing specific requirements to ensure a high level of environmental performance in plant operations. Determines necessary actions, communicates such to affected departments, and audits conformance to requirements.
  • Creates environmental training content and conducts training sessions for internal and external environmental education and awareness campaigns.
  • Completes environmental compliance reporting requirements for above assigned area(s) of responsibility. Collects appropriate data, completes accurate calculations, and prepares timely reports for submittal to regulatory agencies.
  • Plans and conducts environmental audits of Client MC operational departments to ensure that environmental compliance obligations are met. Provides technical leadership to departments in developing necessary corrective actions.
  • Maintains Client MC environmental website and IT application development related to above assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Obtains environmental data, develops, and conducts required calculations, prepares and submits permit applications for above assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Develops required process analysis and testing plans per permit and/or environmental regulatory requirements. Leads testing activities, coordinating closely with affected production departments.

Performs other duties as assigned by Client MC Operations Supervisor.

Education:

•BA/BS degree in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry (or) equivalent of 4 years of related experience in environmental compliance and reporting for a complex industrial manufacturing operation.

Experience: 2+ years of experience in environmental compliance.

  • 50% at Site Operations Center, 50% in field at construction sites.
  • They will be 50% in SOC, 50% in the field, checking silt fences, oil/fuel storage, etc.
  • They will be monitoring construction safety topics and regulations for hot work, construction safety, LOTO, etc.
  • 50/50 independent and team-oriented work.
  • The hours will be M-F, 8-5, 40 hours per week expected.
  • This is a 100% onsite role, but remote work for appointments or dependent care is okay on an as needed basis.

Must have: ability to work independently, punctuality, safety experience.

Nice to have: OSHA 40 hours general industry or construction certificate.

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
