Job SummaryThe Environmental Services (ES) Team Leader is a full time ES Technician that works under the direction of the ES Manager to ensure uninterrupted services from the Environmental Services Department. The ES Team Leader is responsible for training and on-boarding new environmental services (EVS) staff to the hospital cleaning protocols and training other EVS staff on safety precautions and infection control cleaning techniques. The ES Team Leader fills in for the manager during absences and is able to schedule staff, order supplies, responds to work orders through the SysAid system and other department inquiries. The ES Team Leader also performs cleaning related tasks, such as carpets, furniture, beds, doors and glass, rest rooms, floor care, offices and waste receptacles in patient and non-patient areas, pick up and delivery of linens, trash and other housekeeping duties. Must be flexible to work evening shift when necessary based on department needs and training of new staff.

Minimum Education RequirementHigh School Graduate or GED. Must be able to speak and read English. Must be able to comprehend hazardous materials labels. Must be able to follow verbal and written directions.

Minimum Experience RequirementSix months prior recent experience in healthcare or industrial housekeeping is required. Must be able to work with computers, access internet websites to complete supply orders and work within the Paycor Time and Attendance System.

Physical Requirement/Working ConditionsFlexible to working different shifts to cover absences and vacancies. Physically fit to perform tasks including walking, with frequent lifting, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling. Routinely works with cleaning chemicals. External applicants, as well as position incumbents who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential functions, either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined on a case by case basis. Must be able to work all day, evening and weekend shifts as required by department needs.
