Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • EligibilityResearch and resolve eligibility issues

Dis-enroll members who have lost eligibility
Notify enrollees of changes in enrollment

  • Answer phone linesAssisting patients with eligibility and enrollment over the phone
  • Building enrollment contractsBe responsible for performing challenging negotiations and problem resolution.

Be responsible for accurate enrollment and dis-enrollment on DOES.

  • Reporting in ExcelPrepare yearly enrollment fees, quarterly billing for enrollment fees, receives and posts paid fees, sends out past due notices, collection of overdue fees, and responds to calls regarding status of enrollment fees.

Be responsible for maintaining coordination and reconciliation with the governments information systems including DEERS. PMC’s capitation revenue is completely dependent upon this function.
Maintain oversight over the government’s application of enrollment policies and procedures

  • Perform technical processing of enrollment applications.
  • Enter enrollments and disenrollments in the IDX database.

Clinical Specific Information (providers, patient volumes, team vs. one on one):

Must Haves:

  • 1-2 years of healthcare admin experience
  • Experience with Excel: Wants us to ask them if they know what filter or sort is, pivot tables? (OK with not knowing pivot tables)
  • Typing speed of 40+ wpm
  • MUST be able to pass a Credit Check!!
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent required.
  • US Citizenship, required
  • Required to obtain ADP 2 security status
  • Friendly, outgoing, no drama
  • Someone who is looking for a home long-term

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of TriCare or Health Plan is preferred
  • Any experience working in the insurance industry is a plus!
  • Experience with a mail merge is a plus!
  • Bachelors degree preferred

JOB SUMMARY:

The USFHP Enrollment Coordinator provides enrollment and eligibility services for USFHP members. The functions include processing enrollments, disenrollments, and premium payments, and verifying eligibility through the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS). Through various reports, the Enrollment Coordinator reconciles enrollment and premium payment information between the Department of Defense and Pacific Medical Centers systems.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE; CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE*:

Required

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
  • U.S. citizenship, required.
  • Required to obtain ADP II security clearance. ADP II clearance is a United States government-designated level of clearance.
  • Three years of health care business office experience with progressive responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of USFHP program or TRICARE benefits.
  • Typing speed of 40-50 words per minute.
  • Proficiency with Windows, Word and Excel.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration or Business Administration.
  • Experience with DEERS.

  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and practices. Strong math skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong research abilities and successful problem analysis/resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well (in both verbal and written formats) with members, staff, and providers.
  • Ability to provide an excellent customer service experience and deal effectively with a diverse population.
  • Demonstrated skills in successfully working with challenging customers.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills. Ability to balance multiple complex demands, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Exercises resourcefulness, initiative, imagination, creativity, vision, and sound judgment in achieving assigned goals.
