Keystone Surveying and Mapping is looking to fill an opening for the position of Engineering Technician.

The Engineering Technician's role is to provide design support and guidance to the CAD Technician leading to the creation of natural gas pipeline replacement, extension or relocation projects.

Primary duties of this position are:

• Work with engineers to help plan and design all aspects of natural gas distribution and transmission pipeline projects
• PA 811 Design OneCall implementation and coordination
• Perform field visits during the design phase to the existing or proposed site or both and create and record field notes and measurements
• Assist with coordination of project permits on a local, county or state level
• Assist with completing preliminary and final designs
• Coordinate and communicate with various client department personnel to determine project scope, design, planning and address client expectations
• Coordinate on a regular basis with the engineer responsible for the project
• Perform QA/QC of all work prior to submission to the Engineer or Project Manager
• Assist in researching new projects received from the client
• Assess design field data for project development
• Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Knowledge of pipeline and facility design
• 1-5 years of relevant experience
• Strong understanding of basic engineering fundamentals
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word
• Knowledge of state guidelines (DOT, PUC, OSHA, etc.) is very helpful but not required
• Ability to interact positively and professionally with other employees and clients is required
• Strong planning and organizing skills with verbal and written communication skills are desired
• Must have the ability to organize and manage multiple projects and to work independently with little supervision
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive to job sites
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field is desired

Pay will be commensurate with level of knowledge and experience.

Candidate will be required to provide proof of ability to work in the US and must be able to pass as standard criminal background check along with work history and education verification check. Candidate will also be required to pass a standard drug screen.
