Job description

The Assistant Support Technician will assist Burns & McDonnell employees and contractors with the delivery of multiple Information Technology offerings, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, customer commitment, sense of urgency, and continuous improvement.

  • Assist with installation, repair and replacement of computer and computer-related hardware.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and installation of Windows, Microsoft Office, and other standard software packages.
  • Ensure accurate inventory of devices and their assignment to users through detailed doucmentation in ticketing system.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolution of Audio Visual (AV) related issues, including coordination with AV integration partners on hardware warranty, control system programming, or cabling issues.
  • Assist with AV support during presentations and company-sponsored events
  • Assist with business relations activities with Burns & McDonnell staff and management for feedback or user integration.
  • Assist with IT processes for daily and project-based activities.
  • Assist with support for customers in all Burns & McDonnell locations via phone, video, e-mail, and in-person to resolve issues.
  • Assist with incidents assigned from other IT groups or non IT sources.
  • Assist with idenfitying and documenting accurate resolution steps for reoccuring issues in knowledgebase
  • Assist with training and education to Burns & McDonnell employees on usage of IT systems
  • Participate in Problem and Change Management processes as necessary.

All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • A+ certification a plus.
  • This position requires a self starter with proactive initiative, excellent follow through on tasks, strong verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to clearly communicate to all levels of employees, management and clients.
  • Technical expertise in desktops, workstations, laptops and other IT peripheral devices required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.

Job Type: Contract

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Kansas City, MO: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
