The Facilities Electrician I will perform the responsibilities of position on behalf of Medxcel at the assigned working location of St. Thomas Midtown Hospital- Nashville, TN. The Facilities Electrician 1 assembles, installs, tests and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. The Facilities Electrician 1 diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. The Facilities Electrician 1 is responsible for the connection of wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. He/she inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining Electrical Systems
  • Diagnoses causes of problems and/or failures in electrical systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs
  • Installs electrical equipment and systems for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities
  • Performs preventative maintenance measures of all electrical equipment in compliance with all NFPA, NEC and TJC codes ensuring operational readiness and performance. Maintains and contributes to systems training manuals and upgrades as changes occur
  • Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns
  • Maintains knowledge of departmental equipment procedures for power outages
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
  • Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations
  • Maintains tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability in safe operating condition
  • May coordinate, maintain and repair all energy management system

Qualifications:
Must have one or more of the following:
    • Graduate of high school
    • Graduate of trade school
    • 2 years’ related experience
    • Relevant license
    • Other equivalent combination of relevant education or experience
