About the Role

Editorial Insights Analyst at Freethink Media is a data-focused role strongly suited to someone with editorial experience at a digital publisher. The role is embedded within the publishing team, and works in daily collaboration with the analytics team. You'll deliver high-value insights across both sites, Freethink and Big Think, responsible for making data useful in ways that include: querying our data warehouse and delivering actionable insights that shape editorial strategy; presenting key performance metric reports; and using your research and analysis skills to help launch new products and optimize existing ones.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze data from various platforms and datasets related to Freethink's video and article content, presenting actionable insights that will help shape editorial and publishing strategy.
  • Translate data insights into graphs, written reports, or presentation decks that are clear and easy for anyone to understand and use to support decision making.
  • Investigate topics, platform trends, and competitors in order to keep our teams up to date with strategies and suggestions that innovate our output.
  • Keep editorial and publishing teams informed of their progress against company- and team-level goals.
  • Fulfill ad hoc data and insights requests from across the business, including branded partnerships.
  • Analyze our key traffic sources (such as social, search, and news aggregators), to design strategies for our editorial and publishing teams to execute.

What You'll Need

  • 2-5 years of experience in a similar editorial strategy or content analyst or role are required.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Parsely, YouTube Studio, and social media backends strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office & Google suite of tools.
  • Exceptional research, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
  • Organizational skills and the flexibility to jump from priority to priority, which is essential to a role that supports multiple websites and teams.
  • An existing love for content – you read and watch articles and videos regularly.
  • An adaptive and flexible spirit.
  • A desire for continuous learning and improvement.
  • Comfort working remotely.
