Job description
The Early Childhood Supports & Services program, located in Jefferson Parish, will serve as the local early adopter site for children (0-5) and their families in Jefferson, Orleans, St. Bernard, and Plaquemines Parishes. The Director Early Childhood Supports Services (ECSS) Site is responsible for providing administrative and program oversight. The Director will be responsible for overseeing all case management and administrative staff within the local ECSS site and serve as a resource for clients seeking psychiatric, psychological, and other mental health and case management services for young children in the metro area. The position works in conjunction with the ECSS Co-Directors and Oversight Committee to oversee activities relating to program functioning and record keeping, as well as coordination between case management and clinical treatment teams. The Director will serve as the coordinator of the local ECSS Network, including coordination of outreach efforts and organization of network meetings. The Director will be responsible for triaging referrals to the program and making case assignments for appropriate staff. The position also serves as the direct supervisor of the case management team, who will provide supports and linkages with ECSS Network partners and other services in the community to address child and family needs across domains impacting health and well-being (e.g., housing, workforce development, adult mental health services, education, etc.). The Director will ensure timely completion and submission of data and clinical activities report to the ECSS Co-Directors, along with representing the local ECSS program in Network meetings and activities. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of child and family interventions.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of child development.
  • Ability to direct daily operations of a specialized mental health program.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as necessary.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to verbal and written questions from coworkers, clients, referral sources, and the public.
  • Ability to have or obtain computer skills for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and other computer applications as necessary.
  • Ability to manage reporting to and communication with Department of Children and Family Services.
  • Ability to provide consultation and support to service providers and community stakeholders.
Required Education and/or Experience
  • Master’s Degree in social work or related field.
  • Five years of clinical experience beyond graduate school.
  • Licensed in the State of Louisiana.
  • Experience working with young children and families.
  • Experience providing supervision of employees.
  • Proficient and effective communication skills, language skills, and judgement for public speaking engagements, report writing, event scheduling, and outreach.
Preferred Qualifications • Licensed clinical social worker (LCSW)
  • Experience in infant and early childhood mental health
  • Experience with reflective supervision
  • Experience with program management
  • Experience with data management
  • Strong networking skills
