Job description
This Psychology Services Supervisor job, at the Gage Center for Forensic Excellence located on DSHS’s Lakewood campus, offers the Forensic Psychologist the opportunities to mentor others who conduct clinical work and unify the team by establishing shared work goals.

Gage Center for Forensic Excellence provides state-of-the-art mental health evaluations, competency restoration services, treatment, habilitation, and consultation services.
As Psychology Services Supervisor, you play a key role in guiding psychological assessment, evaluation, treatment, consultation, program management, and clinical leadership. You will supervise approximately twenty licensed and unlicensed staff of psychologists and masters-level psychology associates. You will be a key contributing member of management teams directly involved in determining how treatment is provided at Gage. A hybrid telework schedule is available for this job.
Some of what you will do
Hire and train new psychology staff, and supervise psychologists and psychology associates- Ensure psychologists maintain appropriate standards of care, consistent with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and State licensing requirements
- Provide leadership and clinical support, direct behavioral plans
- Establish psychology practice improvement initiatives, develop action plans, and track progress, complete annual assessments
- Manage civil commitment/court processes
- Oversee unit psychology quality assurance program
- Set agendas and lead psychology meetings, participate in the management team/initiatives, and on hospital-wide committees and workgroups
- Provide organization and clearly articulate the vision of the therapy unit by supporting employees and finding ways to boost morale; encourage employees to speak candidly about solutions they would like incorporated
Fast forward 6 months: You have successfully brought cohesion to the team and are adapting well to the formation of the Gage Center psychological unit.
Who should apply
Professionals with:
- A PsyD or Psych PhD
- And a license to practice as a Psychologist in the State of Washington or eligible to obtain a Washington State license prior to hire
- And 3 years of applied post-licensure experience and demonstrated psychotherapy, psychological consultation, and psychological assessment skills
Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Forensic psychology experience
- Supervisory experience
- Apply and teach evidence-based psychological practices, core understanding of psychiatric recovery principles
- Knowledge of American Psychological Association (APA) Ethical Code
- Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with diverse staff and patients to accomplish the Center's mission
