Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform safety effort for company vehicles and equipment including (40%):

  • Coordinating inspections with maintenance team and update and maintain in software, equipment list, equipment files.
  • Accident/Incident investigations and review any open claims with adjusters.
  • Maintain and audit employee files ensuring all paperwork and forms are properly filed following all company procedures.
  • Manage random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Lead safety meetings with drivers.
  • Maintain and audit employee files ensuring all paperwork and forms are compliant with a DOT audit and properly filed following all company procedures.
  • Create Safety material to share with drivers in pre-shift meetings.
  • Investigate roadside incidents, citations, and tickets.
  • Review and fight accidents in DATA Q, send to appropriate states, issue discipline if needed.
  • Driver License reviews and DOT card reviews.
  • Maintain PeopleNet (GPS and ELD) and update the list.
  • Safety reviews (mock) with insurance companies, yearly.
  • Monitor driver's hours of service.
  • Assist in assigning the unassigned drive time for drivers.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations including OSHA.

Support Transportation Requirements of the Customer including (40%):

  • Manage drivers by handing and updating systems for JIT and SPD freight.
  • Ability to handle request by phone and email from customers and carriers to add, delete or modify routes.
  • Communicate with drivers and provide instructions to ensure a successful delivery.
  • Monitor and adjust driver schedules to cover required transportation commitments.

Assistance with driver recruiting including (20%):

  • Conduct safety portion of driver orientations.
  • On/Offboarding procedures including PeopleNet and TMW.
  • Create and maintain driver’s qualifications files.

Additional duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of related work experience in Transportation required and 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
  • The ability to problem solve and prioritize assignments
  • Proficient with Microsoft packages, including Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Knowledge of IFTA/IRP Reporting, CSA, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Associate's degree

  • CDL-A driver safety: 1 year (Preferred)
