DOL VETS TAP: Senior Employment Facilitator (Part-time) - Offutt AFB, NE
Job description
In this role, you will:
- Guide the transitioning Military Servicemembers in identifying goals, while also assisting them with recognizing any employment or education gaps.
- Conduct large group instruction and provide individual counseling on the job search process.
- Mentor and assist in the training of part-time Employment Facilitators new to the program to include a 90 day post-hire review.
- Provide transitioning Servicemembers (Active, Reserve, National Guard), family members, and Veterans a comprehensive understanding of preparing for civilian employment, job searching, job application processes, networking, technical training opportunities, credentialing, and assistance in preparing for civilian employment and participation in technical programs and schools; and who can conduct large group instruction and provide counseling on the job search process.
- Facilitate job search and process workshops with curriculum and activities created specifically for Spouses, Veterans, and Wounded Warriors.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- An Associate degree and 5 years of TAP training experience.
- OR a Bachelor’s degree, any discipline from an accredited college or university and at least 3 years of TAP training experience.
- Experience which demonstrates understanding of private and public sector employment processes.
- An excellent time management skills and able to work independently.
- To be proficient in MS Windows and Office.
- The ability to communicate effectively with Military clients, be comfortable instructing and speaking in front of a group, be observant of others, possess the ability to engage an audience, and respond to inquiries independently.
- The ability to travel 50%.
Additional desired experience and skills:
- Previous experience as a TAP classroom instructor or career counselor.
