In this role, as Division Director and Chief Technology Officer you will be responsible for leading our technical strategy and architectural oversight to improve our digital infrastructure and architecture. You will be a thought leader and consensus builder, bridging gaps between business and technology and maintaining objectivity while keeping in mind that technology and architecture are foundational to delivering on our goals and objectives.

What you will do:
- Practically apply existing, new, and emerging technologies to new and evolving organization and operating models and deliver actionable recommendations to organization leaders
- Lead, manage, and balance a bimodal architecture program: tactical - to run, grow, and transform the organization - and strategic, which designs and enables future-state organizational capabilities with a focus on technology disruption, speed, agility, and flexibility
- Serve as a key technical leader in identifying and applying industry trends in process, tools, and methodologies, building positive and effective relationships demonstrating a proven record of converting architecture and strategy into actionable delivery
- Lead the creation and evolution of the enterprise-wide architecture program and technology roadmaps
- Provide technical leadership to the development team(s) and actively participate in the development process as needed to translate architecture into design through delivery
- Closely collaborate with technical and non-technical leadership to shape strategy into a defined plan and vision to meet product and organizational objectives, aligning technology with organizational strategy, and be an active participant and the authoritative technical voice in strategy discussions
- Ensure technology roadmaps across applications, infrastructure, and other aspects of technology are evolving in sync with each other
- Run technology experiments, helping to create and innovate products and services, developing plans to integrate positive experiments into the enterprise architecture
What you will need in order to be successful:
- Bachelor’s degree Computer Science or related degree from an accredited university; having a Master’s degree is a plus
- 10 – 12+ years of practical experience in building, delivering, and supporting IT systems in the evolution to being an architect
- 5+ years of leadership responsibility and supervisory experience
- Strong full stack experience across applications, services, and infrastructure
- Knowledge of all components of holistic organizational architecture
- Familiarity with graphical modeling tools
- Familiarity with major cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, IBM, etc.
- Strong knowledge of serverless architectures and models
- Broad knowledge of software development and software testing methodologies along with change and configuration management practices in internally hosted and cloud hosted environments
- Demonstrated understanding of cloud computing architectural fundamentals including distinctions between IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
- Clear understanding of Data Protection requirements in securing cloud hosted applications
- Experience with automated deployment, continuous integration, and release engineering tools
Ideal candidates will also contribute:
- Solid knowledge of design patterns and refactoring concepts
- Practical expertise in performance tuning and optimization and bottleneck problems analysis
- Understanding of container-based architectures
- Experience as technical lead organizing and mentoring junior- and intermediate level engineers/architects
- Expert knowledge of Microservices Architecture
- Expert knowledge of Python / NodeJS / PHP
- Expert knowledge of Javascript and modern client-side frameworks
- Expert knowledge of Data Concepts (both SQL based and noSQL)
- Understanding of and Champion for shift-left Quality practices
