Midwest Mattress has an immediate full-time opening for a Dispatcher Second Shift working out of our office in Des Moines, Iowa.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The primary function of a Dispatcher is to provide administrative support to our logistics and sales staff. The ideal candidate will be able to provide timely and efficient service for our internal and external customers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Answering and distributing phone calls
• Building, scheduling, and tracking deliveries
• Providing support for management, sales staff, and delivery drivers
• Other duties as assigned

SKILLS:

• High School diploma with at least one year of related administrative work experience (university preferred)
• Previous experience in the transportation industry preferred
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook,and Word)
• Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment
• Ability to plan and organize, have an attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Possess courteous, yet assertive telephone etiquette
• Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes
• Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Must be able to sit at a computer and telephone simultaneously for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
