Title: Director, Revenue Growth Management Enablement
Reports To: VP, Revenue Growth Management
Location: Atlanta, GA

Position Overview:

The Director of Revenue Growth Management (RGM) Enablement is responsible for developing and implementing key RGM principles to drive better effectiveness from trade spend in Newell’s US businesses.

This role works within the RGM Center of Excellence (COE) and will support customer planning, promotion optimization, pricing and assortment strategy, and trade spend transparency capabilities by effectively partnering with our business segment sales and finance teams to steward and embed RGM principles into commercial programs and strategy. This role will also steward connectivity and actively work across enterprise customer teams to drive action, accountability and value-based decision making throughout the customer planning process. The Director of RGM Enablement will lead the customer engagement area of OVID 2.0.

The Team:

This role has three direct reports:

  • Senior Manager RGM – Home Segment (includes food storage, home appliance and home fragrance categories)
  • Senior Manager RGM – Learning & Development Segment (includes writing and baby categories)
  • Senior Manager RGM – Outdoor & Recreation Segment

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead customer engagement for OVID 2.0 – ensure success of the pilot through active engagement with the customer teams, thought leadership for pay for performance scorecards and appropriate customer-facing documentation to enable effective sell-in
  • Lead customer planning development across enterprise customer teams – annual business plan, gap solving initiatives, forecast review, customer business review, rate/mix/volume analysis
  • Evaluate historical promotional event performance and influence the design of new strategies to maximize performance results; influence successful deployment of promotion optimization insights to key user groups within commercial, RGM and networked organization
  • Drive thought leadership and adaptation recommendations necessary to evolve business segments’ trade spend and promotional strategies by supporting the development of insights and the implementation of optimization principles across the organization
  • Identify and embed insights to impact annual retail plans as well as support long-term strategic direction
  • Create processes to embed promotion optimization insights as a priority with our customers and internal stakeholders
  • Help business segments develop shopper-centric price package architecture that considers the consumer need, the customer/channel partner, the brand message, the package configuration, the price and promotion offering
  • Work with business segment and Finance COE to enable more trade spend transparency from gross to net price
  • Steward business segment connectivity and adaptation of RGM growth priorities to drive system optimization
  • Foster a learning culture that embraces change by prioritizing key operating principles - trust, operational sustainability and speed to execution
  • Advance Newell Brands’ 4 T culture (Trust, Transparency, Truth, Teamwork) and operational excellence across the RGM capability through goal setting, career planning, team development and performance reviews

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or similar required; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of experience, preferably in the consumer goods industry
  • Experience leading and influencing others, directly and indirectly
  • Experience developing business plans/business cases; strategic thinking (forward-looking vision and anticipating of future needs)
  • 3+ years of experience in sales planning, customer planning or customer facing roles highly preferred
  • Extensive experience with price/package/promotion plan development and analytics
  • Experience and comfort working directly with system leaders; aligning leaders with differing perspectives to gain consensus
  • Experience collaborating with key internal/external stakeholders; effective in influencing a wide variety of stakeholders; effective communication and relationship building at all organizational levels
  • Experience in constructing and delivering a strong story; excellent presentation skills
