In addition, the Director of Inclusion is expected to:


  • Support Heads of School (HoS) and Special Populations Chairs/Coordinators to ensure that:
    • School goals are achieved with a specific focus on differentials
    • General educators provide accommodations and instruction tailored to scholar needs
    • There are rigorous and inclusive goals for all scholars with IEPs
  • Observe and provide feedback to special populations chairs/coordinators on IEP meeting facilitation, IEP and 504 goals, services, accommodations, and special education teacher coaching.
  • Oversee TLC programming by:
    • Finalizing TLC vision and guidance document with the input of stakeholders
    • Coaching school teams to reach the established vision
    • Supporting schools to build TLC schedules that ensure scholars’ needs are met and revise schedules as needed
    • Coaching TLC teams to support scholars on alternate assessment
    • Facilitating TLC clinical team meetings
    • Consulting on upcoming TLC IEP meetings
  • Support Response to Intervention (RTI) programming design and implementation to effectively support teachers and students in using research based interventions
  • Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for:
    • School leaders and their teams inclusive of special pops chairs
    • New hire cohorts, inclusive of differentiated PD for special educators and TLC program team members
    • General educators as it relates to implementing the supports embedded within Tier 1 curricula
  • Serve as a member of the CIA team supporting all BVP schools
    • Collaborate with Director of Special Populations and Directors for Grade-levels to build effective academic programs
  • Collaborate with other members of network special populations
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Special education admin cert or building admin cert
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a school-based leader who has experience coaching other leaders and leading special education work.
  • Knowledge and experience with implementing special education best practices for instruction and assessment and knowledge of standards for scholars on alternate assessment
  • Knowledge and experience with the Common Core State Standards, Next Generation Science Standards, and/or state content standards, with expertise in at least one content area
  • Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication
  • Demonstrated strong personal leadership capability, including facilitating adult leaders, interpersonal relations, relationship building and management, and coaching
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to produce high-quality work in a timely manner
  • Experience on a network or district office team preferred
