Job Description


The Director of Social Media will be responsible for creating and executing an effective organic social media strategy for the Unitek Learning brands. Seeking an energetic and self-driven thinker to build and sustain relationships between Unitek’s family of colleges and prospective/current students, alumni, campus personnel and the public with the goal of increasing our brand reputation and social media engagement.

  • Work closely with each brand to define the social media strategy for Unitek College, Provo College, Eagle Gate College, Brookline College & Unitek EMT
  • Grow followers on key platforms and build community through meaningful engagement
  • Drive amplification strategies through innovative approaches, identifying and presenting ways to maximize value in social channels
  • Focus on data driven analytics and create reporting platform
  • Maintain brand voice, tone and personality in all content to create a consistent experience across all social channels
  • Develop and manage social media content calendar and campaigns in collaboration with the brands to help to achieve corporate marketing goals
  • Identify market trends and customer insights by utilizing social listening to inform innovation and content development
  • Own social tool to keep all page content up to date, manage responses, post and schedule content and manage social media metrics
  • Create strategy for reputation management and be responsible for responses to comments on social and review platforms along with escalation plan when necessary
  • Analyze the long-term needs of the company’s social media strategy and offer reports to the management and executive teams that outline any necessary changes to the digital marketing plan
  • Be able to work closely with internal stakeholders and manage outside agencies to ensure best practices and results are met
  • Create social media best practice’s that can be shared with local campus leadership and ambassadors to help curate and share local content
  • Some travel is required to attend local events and visit campuses.
  • Should be able to think creatively and develop innovative social media campaigns that engage and inspire the target audience

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience leading organic social media strategies focused on lead generation
  • 5+ years leading a team
  • Bachelor’s degree required; in a related field a plus
  • Social media fluent. You know the relevant platforms and what’s happening on them; have strong relationships with social media titans and thorough knowledge of which platforms are relevant to the brand
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities and ability to connect social media KPIs with overall marketing and business objective
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Experience with social media tool Sprout Social or similar platforms
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Must possess superb people and presentation skills
  • Experience with SEO optimization plus
  • Experience with Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Google My Business, Yelp and LinkedIn a must
  • Experience w/ content creation tools: These tools help create and edit graphics, videos, and other visual content for social media posts. Examples include Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and Lumen5
  • Experience with video editing tools: These tools help create and edit videos for social media posts, including adding captions, transitions, and effects. Examples include Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and iMovie
